Father Won't you is the second song to be released off of the upcoming Who Killed the Mascot album. Its light and upbeat energy is why it was chosen for the second song, to maintain the new sound of the band while also bringing a contrast to Undermine’s dark and heavy undertones.
The lyrics, structure, and melody were all written over a simple drum loop the band recorded in a session to get unique drum grooves for intros. The outro of the song doubles as a guitar and drum solo section.
